Genesis

Lisa began her career in martial arts in 1995 at the tender age of 16 when she attended a freestyle karate class in her home town of Horley. From the first session – she was hooked.

During her time studying martial arts, Lisa has been lucky enough to experience many different styles including kung fu, tae kwon do, jujitsu, capoeira, freestyle karate, kickboxing as well as boxing.

But it was Wado Ryu Karate that Lisa decided to specialize in and in which she achieved her first Dan black belt in 2002.

She now enjoys training under the ever-inspiring Tony and Jacey Cashman at their SKF Karate club, as well as proudly wearing the colors of ‘Team Swat’ during national and international competitions.

One of Lisa’s greatest achievements was being selected for the WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations) Great Britain squad in 2005, where she proudly returned home with a bronze in the World Championships. Lisa has successfully kept her place in the team winning another bronze in the European Championships in 2006 and silver in the 2007 World Championships.

In 2006 Lisa launched her own kickboxing classes in a new fitness studio in Reigate, which is going from strength to strength.

Inspirational Quotes

"Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor souls who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat."

-- Theodore Roosevelt

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great."

-- Mark Twain
