FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions

What do I have to wear, and do I need any equipment?

We train in our exclusive Kickboxkarate uniform. For your initial lessons, we recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Please be aware that some classes may require training in bare feet. Equipment is not mandatory during the early stages of training. Beginners often borrow class equipment until they are ready to make their own purchase.

Can I train with my children?

Absolutely! Explore our family class for more information. This unique class allows both children and adults to train together, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.

Do I have to take part in fighting at competitions?

No, participating in competitions is not a compulsory aspect of training. While some students choose to engage in competitions as an optional extra, we do have a highly competitive fighting squad that competes nationally and internationally.

When do the gradings take place?

KBK Gradings are scheduled every 3-4 months. You can find our grading syllabus on our website. In kids’ classes, earning tags based on attendance is essential for grading. Children grading for their first belt at 7 years and under will need 2 tags, and those aged 12 and under will need 3 tags.

Is my child too young to start?

We welcome students from the age of 3 years to adults. Our classes are tailored to different age groups, ensuring that younger kids can progress at their own pace while focusing on fundamental martial arts skills. For safety reasons, we do not accept children under 3 years old, as a basic level of coordination is necessary before they are ready to begin their training.
